Operating exclusively in the field of the financial guarantees, Covéa Caution mainly offers guarantees to home developers and builders, suppliers and for use in regulated professions which must provide guarantees to protect funds invested by customers.

Covéa Caution was founded in 1991 when it was legally compulsory for individual home builders to take out performance bonds.  Based on its high quality reinsurance activities, Covéa Caution has made sureties and bonds its key business.
Covéa Caution mainly works in two types of guarantees in various industries: "legally required" sureties which must be subscribed particularly by legal, real estate and tourism professionals; and construction guarantees for real estate building professionals.

Covéa Caution offers its residential contractor clients an extranet that facilitates the subscription and follow-up of the guarantees that are indispensable for their business. Innovative on the market, this tool is a genuine time saver for builders and has become a sales point when negotiating new contracts.

Despite a difficult economic environment, in 2011 Covéa caution realised gross premiums of 11.3 millions euros, sightly down compred with last year.
